Tickets Now Available for Barrister’s Ball 2022: Welcome to the Jungle

Dear Miami Law,

The Student Bar Association is happy to announce that ticket sales for Barrister’s Ball 2022: Welcome to the Jungle have resumed! Please join us on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Jungle Island from 7:30 PM to 12:30 AM for an evening of dinner and dancing. You can purchase tickets now by clicking here.

As a reminder, each ticket includes hors d’oeuvres, dinner, and wine for one person, as well as access to a cash bar. Due to the school’s temporary suspension of ticket sales over the virtual learning period, the General Ticket Sale ($75/ticket) will be extended through Friday, February 18th at 11:59 PM. Thereafter, the Late Ticket Sale ($115/ticket) will commence. The last day to get a refund for your ticket is next Friday, February 11th at 5:00 PM, and thereafter you may transfer your ticket to another guest by emailing events@law.miami.edu with the transfer information. All refunds and transfers are handled through the Miami Law Events Office, not through SBA.

To ensure the health and safety of all attendees, Barrister’s Ball will be held at a beautiful, outdoor venue within Jungle Island (with a backup plan in place for poor weather). The SBA has also allocated funds for buffet servers to minimize high-touch surfaces, as well as for a larger dance floor to provide additional space between guests.

Additionally, in light of the increased risk factors associated with large-scale events such this one, the University has imposed the following requirements for all Barrister’s Ball attendees. First, all attendees must provideproof of a negative COVID-19 test to enter (either a negative PCR test taken no more than 3 days prior to the event, or a negative rapid antigen test taken no more than one day prior to the event), including non-student guests and regardless of vaccination status. Second, properly worn masks will be required except when eating or drinking regardless of vaccination status. Guests are encouraged to wash and sanitize their hands often.

We hope to see you there! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact President Kelly Malloy, Treasurer Lizzy Castano, or the Barrister’s Ball Committee Co-Chairs, Senators Renata Sassarini and Taylor Rich.

Please note that anyone who is symptomatic should not attend any events, and anyone who is immunocompromised should check with their health care provider before attending this event. By attending this event, you are acknowledging that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. Further, by attending, you and any guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree not to hold the University of Miami (UM) or any of its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, or volunteers liable for any illness or injury.
